Leisure Interest Courses Learn a Language
These courses are held at three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced. The level of each course is defined below. The course timetable consists of hour-long study sessions, interspersed with short breaks and the content is carefully balanced, so as to hold students' attention. In addition, there are opportunities to practise the language during meals and in the evening. Tutors are experienced and sympathetic to the needs of those attending. In most cases, they are natives of the country in question.
Elementary For this course, we will assume that students have some very basic knowledge of the language, for example, having studied it at school. It will cover basic grammar, sentence construction and pronunciation and will introduce a limited but useful vocabulary.
Intermediate An improvement course for students who are familiar with the fundamentals of the language and who are able to make simple conversation. The object will be to use more advanced sentence constructions, develop conversational ability and expand vocabulary.
Advanced This course is for people who have a sound knowledge of the grammar and structure of the language and who are able to converse and comprehend the spoken word with ease. The course will help students to further their conversational ability and raise their standard of comprehension.
